Pete Jones
Pete Jones completed a BA in Film Studies before going on to Goldsmiths College to do an MA in photography. After graduating he become a professional freelance photographer. Early clients included various Fringe Theatre productions, the Royal Academy of Dance, a wide range of reportage and publicity shots for PR and marketing companies and a number of charities. This range of work set a pattern which has enabled Pete to build a career round his two great passions - documentary photography and the performing arts.
Pete's view of the performing arts is all inclusive! He has covered a wide range of regional and West End productions as well as stints photographing the Edinburgh Festival. His classical music clients include the Wigmore Hall, European Youth Orchestra, Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra, Ysaye Quarter and the BBC Choir of the Year. In 2001 he completed a year long project documenting backstage life (over 40 shows) at the Theatre Royal, Brighton. More recently he has been contracted as a creative, producing campaigns and brochures including portrait work and events.
His work with the BBC, Channel 5, Channel 5 and several independent companies has culminated in several tie-in books including ‘The Diet Doctors Inside and Out|”, Gina Ford’s latest book and Adam Hart –Davis’s ‘What the Tudors and Stuarts did for Us’. Pete has also recently toured an exhibition fully funded by Arts Council England entitled "Stories High", a collaborative art project documenting the decline of the amazing art deco building Embassy Court which is situated on the Brighton seafront.
His work has been reproduced in all forms of media and he has been with ArenaPAL since 1998.
